  • Description

I call these banjos Hotrods because I use small gourds. The small gourds give bright tones with not so much bass. This is a small bottle gourd, always a popular shape on a full size 5 string neck. Still tuned to open G  and other banjo tuning, but with small size gourd. The gourd is 10″ length, 6 1/2″ wide, and 5″ deep. I would describe the tone as a tenor banjolele, not bassy but bright. “Irma” style peghead with 2 goatskins and 2 soundports.
